Enjoy beautiful scenery while running at:

Red Rock Canyon

  • 195,819-acre National Conservation Area with unique geologic features, plants and animals, and spectacular views

  • 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip

  • Located under a deep ocean basin during the Paleozoic Era 600 million years ago

  • Protected habitat for the Desert Tortise

Lake Mead

  • 16th largest man-made lake in the world, and the largest man-made lake in the Western Hemisphere created by the Hoover Dam along the Colorado River

  • Occupies about 1.5 million acres -- twice as much as Rhode Island -- and about 820 miles of shoreline

  • Located at the junction of three desert ecosystems: the Mojave, the Great Basin and the Sonoran deserts

  • Home to many animal species and plant varieties, some which are exclusive to this area

  • Surrounded by red sandstone and black lava rock in the 1.6 billion-year-old Black Canyon; some of the lava hills are about 6 million years old

Meet Sam

Sam began running over 30 years ago on National Smokeout Day and hasn't stopped since! Many daily runs, races and marathons (personal best of 2:38 at the Penn Relays Marathon in Philadelphia) have followed. Years of racing and coaching later, Sam's enthusiasm and dedication are still contagious. For people at all levels, running with Sam is an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Be Consistent

When visiting Las Vegas, it is important to

be consistent with your training while being realistic with your work or vacation schedule. We can plan the right workout and make it enjoyable and rewarding.

Run Early

Early morning is always the best time to

run, especially coming from the Eastern
US as the time difference works in your favor. It is almost imperative in the warmer months. The first half of a long run should be completed by sunrise.
