- Located at the junction of three desert ecosystems: the Mojave, the Great Basin and the Sonoran deserts
- Home to many animal species and plant varieties, some which are exclusive to this area
- Surrounded by red sandstone and black lava rock in the 1.6 billion-year-old Black Canyon; some of the lava hills are about 6 million years old
Sam’s love of running and enthusiasm are contagious. He is a AFAA-certified personal trainer and a running coach. He has run over 50 marathons with a personal best of 2:38, and has qualified for Boston every year for the past three decades. Sam is a member of LVTC and Valley Striders.
